What is APA, and what does it pay for?
APA stands for Advance Provisioning Allowance. It is paid on top of the charter fee, usually 25–35 % of the fee, and held by the captain to cover running costs during your charter: fuel, food and drinks, and port and marina fees. The captain keeps receipts and gives you a full statement before you disembark. Any unspent APA balance is returned to you at the end of the charter.

Crew, APA and what the charter fee covers
A super yacht charter in Saint-Tropez is always crewed. The captain holds the commercial qualifications and is responsible for the yacht, the route and the safety of everyone aboard, so you never need a licence of your own. Around the captain, depending on the vessel, the crew includes a chef, a chief stewardess and interior team, deckhands who run the tenders and water toys, and an engineer.
