A catamaran trades a little speed for a great deal of comfort. Two hulls mean a broad, stable platform that barely rolls at anchor — ideal for families with young children, nervous swimmers, or anyone who wants to dine and sunbathe without the heel of a monohull. The wide trampolines and flush aft deck create generous lounging space, and the shallow draft lets you tuck into coves and beach approaches deeper-keeled yachts must avoid.
Around Saint-Tropez that shallow draft is a real advantage: you can anchor closer to Pampelonne's sand, slip into the lagoon-like water near Port Grimaud, and reach quiet spots off the Îles d'Hyères.
