Questions, answered plainly

Chartering, sales and how a day on the water comes together — the things clients ask most.

We charter marine yachts only — motor yachts, sailing yachts, catamarans and superyachts departing Saint-Tropez and cruising the Côte d'Azur. Our world is the sea: the Vieux Port, the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, Pampelonne and the wider Riviera coastline toward Cannes, Monaco and the Îles d'Hyères. Every yacht we represent comes with an experienced skipper and crew who know these waters intimately, so your time on board is spent enjoying the coast rather than navigating it. Whether you have a single day or a full week in mind, the yacht is matched to your party and your plans, and you receive a clear, all-inclusive quote before anything is confirmed.

Charter is by quote, because no two days on the water are the same. The price depends on the yacht and its size, the time of year, whether you charter by the day or by the week, and the crew, catering and water toys you choose. A day aboard a 12–18 metre motor yacht sits at the accessible end; a crewed superyacht for a week in high season sits at the other. July and August command peak rates, while June and September often offer the same coastline in calmer, better-value conditions. Tell us your dates, party size and the experience you have in mind, and we propose suitable yachts with clear, all-in pricing — no surprises on the day, no hidden extras at the dock.

A day charter from Saint-Tropez includes the yacht for the full day with its skipper and crew, fuel within an agreed cruising range, and a flexible route built around you rather than a fixed timetable. You typically depart the Vieux Port mid-morning, anchor for swimming and lunch in the Gulf or off Pampelonne, and return at golden hour. Towels, swim gear and the tender for beach-club drop-offs are aboard; catering, premium wines and specific water toys can be added on request. The exact yacht is matched to your party size and quoted individually, so you know precisely what is included before you step aboard — there is nothing to settle at the dock.

No. Every charter we arrange comes with an experienced skipper and crew, so you need no licence and no boating experience whatsoever — you simply step aboard and enjoy the day while the crew handles navigation, anchoring and the tender. This is the case for day charters, weekly charters and superyachts alike. If you would prefer a bareboat option without crew, a recognised licence and a sailing résumé may be required, and a deposit applies; we will tell you clearly which arrangement suits the yacht you choose. For the overwhelming majority of our guests, the crewed experience is the point — you keep your hands free for a glass of rosé and the view of the coast.

From Saint-Tropez the whole Côte d'Azur is within reach. Popular day runs include Pampelonne and the beach-club bays minutes from the Vieux Port, Cannes and the Lérins Islands (around 25 nautical miles), and the calm, pine-fringed anchorages of Port-Cros and Porquerolles in the Îles d'Hyères to the west. Over a longer charter you can push to Monaco and Port Hercule (around 60 nautical miles), the Cap d'Antibes, or the wilder Italian Riviera beyond. We design each itinerary around your dates, the prevailing weather and what you actually want to see — a relaxed circuit of swim stops and long lunches, or a coast-hopping run that ties several harbours together across a week.

It comes down to how much coast you want to cover. A day charter is the classic Saint-Tropez experience — out for swimming and lunch off Pampelonne or in the Gulf, beach-club tenders, and home by golden hour. It is ideal for couples, small groups and anyone wanting the Riviera in a single, unhurried day. A weekly charter opens the whole coastline: you sleep aboard, wake in a different bay each morning, and link Saint-Tropez with Cannes, the Lérins, Porquerolles and Monaco at your own rhythm. Choose a day charter for a memorable highlight, a weekly charter for a genuine cruising holiday. If you are unsure, tell us your dates and party and we will suggest the format that fits.

It depends on the yacht and on whether you are cruising for the day or staying aboard overnight. For day charters, French regulations commonly allow up to twelve guests on a commercially chartered yacht, which suits most family outings and group celebrations comfortably. Smaller day-boats are perfect for a couple or six to eight friends; larger motor yachts and catamarans carry the full dozen with room to spread out. For overnight and weekly charters the number is set by the cabins rather than the day limit — typically two to twelve sleeping guests depending on the vessel. Tell us your party size and we will match a yacht with the right deck space, shade and cabin layout for the way you want to spend the time.

Yes. Yats Saint-Tropez is a full yacht house — charter, sales and brokerage under one roof. Whether you want to charter for a week, buy your first yacht or sell an existing one, you work with a single trusted team that knows the Riviera market and its yachts in depth. Many owners begin with us as charter guests, discover the model and size that genuinely suits their life on the water, and then move to purchase with the same advisors who already understand exactly how they like to cruise. On the sales side we handle valuation, discreet marketing, qualified buyers and the full transaction, so the experience is as considered as a day at anchor in the Gulf.

Selling through us begins with a realistic valuation grounded in current Riviera and Mediterranean market data, not wishful thinking. We then prepare the listing — professional photography, honest specifications and a clear description — and market it discreetly to qualified buyers through our network and the right brokerage channels, rather than broadcasting your asset to the whole internet. We handle viewings, sea trials and surveys, qualify every enquiry so your time is not wasted, and manage negotiation and the closing paperwork through to a clean transfer. Throughout, you have one point of contact who keeps you informed and protects both your price and your discretion. The aim is a confident sale at a fair number, with none of the administrative weight landing on you.
